Pakistan The full name of Pakistan is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which means "Land of the Pure" and "Land of Islam". Over 95% of its residents believe in Islam, making it a multi-ethnic Islamic country. Its national language is Urdu. Pakistan’s tourism industry develops relatively slowly. Most tourists are Pakistanis residing in Europe and America, as well as visitors from Gulf countries. Major tourist attractions include Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, Faisalabad and the northern regions. In 2003, Pakistan officially became an approved outbound tourist destination for self-funded Chinese citizens.
